Listen, Understand, Advocate, Transform
My journey started in a dorm room in Birmingham, Alabama. One of my friends shared a story of trauma that they had never processed in a healthy way. Instead, they had developed trauma responses to help them cope and survive. Unfortunately, our community lacked both appropriate resources and an understanding of intersectionality. I realized I wanted us to do more than survive, I wanted us to thrive!
As a Black woman and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I can relate to those who feel marginalized as a result of life’s most challenging situations and experiences. My goal is to help you effectively manage painful emotions and to educate you on how to respond to difficult situations, thereby leading to a healthier, happier life. My approach is direct, open, and empathic. I strive to create a safe, positive space that fosters and promotes personal growth, self-exploration, and healing. Together we will unravel the complexities associated with issues such as race-based traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, deepening interpersonal connections, and discovering your authentic self. I look forward to connecting with you.
